Twin Palm VIA Young Ambassadors Discuss Road Safety on ZANIS Morning Blend

VIA Young Ambassadors from Twin Palm Secondary School appeared on ZANIS Morning Blend on Saturday, 26 September 2026, to share their experiences of road safety through the VIA – Safe Mobility for All Young People project.
The appearance gave the learners a public platform to speak about safer journeys and their involvement in the project, which is sponsored by TotalEnergies and implemented by the Zambia Road Safety Trust (ZRST).
VIA aims to help young people identify road risks, raise awareness among their peers and advocate for safer travel. The Young Ambassadors’ involvement brings learners’ perspectives into public discussion about the roads they use.
For ZRST, supporting young people to speak about road safety is part of its work with schools. The ZANIS appearance provides a practical example of how a school-based programme can extend beyond the classroom and give learners a voice through national media.
Road safety education has a role alongside safer streets, appropriate vehicle speeds and responsible driving. Young people’s participation can help draw attention to their needs, while responsibility for protecting them remains shared by the authorities, road managers, schools, drivers and communities.
