On Thursday, 25 September 2025, the Zambia Road Safety Trust (ZRST) contributed to the Vision Zero: Transport Sector Stakeholder Workshop held at the Protea Hotel Marriott in Ndola. This engagement marked a strategic milestone for ZRST, strengthening its presence in the Copperbelt and advancing collaboration toward Vision Zero—a future where no life is lost on Zambia’s roads.
Representing ZRST, the Research & Partnership Manager, Mr. Thomas Miyoba, delivered a compelling presentation on Safe Road User Behaviors. His address underscored the urgent need to transform attitudes, strengthen enforcement, and foster a culture of safety across the transport sector. The presentation emphasized education, community engagement, and evidence-based interventions as critical pillars for protecting vulnerable road users and saving lives.
A key outcome of the workshop was an invitation for ZRST to deliver a follow-up presentation on Vision Zero, participate in an upcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing, and support the launch of Vision Zero initiatives. These developments reflect growing momentum and confidence in ZRST’s leadership and technical contribution to road safety in Zambia.

Together with partners including Ask RTSA, the Zambia Red Cross Society, the Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board, and others, ZRST reaffirmed its collective commitment to safer roads for all. The Trust extends sincere appreciation to the organizers and participants for creating a platform that promotes action, collaboration, and shared responsibility in building a safer Zambia.
