ZRST Strengthens Care for Road Traffic Victims with Generous Donation to UTH

As the world prepares to commemorate the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDoR) on November 17th, 2024, the Zambia Road Safety Trust (ZRST) took a meaningful step to support those affected by road traffic accidents. Recognizing the importance of this global day of reflection, ZRST, in partnership with Prudential Assurances, made a significant contribution to Zambia’s highest medical institution, the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

The donations, which included wheelchairs, soaps, and cleaning materials, were aimed at improving the care and comfort of road traffic accident victims during their recovery at UTH. These essential items will enhance the hospital’s ability to provide quality care and support to patients who have suffered traumatic injuries due to road accidents.

ZRST has long been dedicated to promoting road safety and reducing the number of traffic-related injuries and fatalities in Zambia. This donation is part of the organization’s broader mission to not only prevent accidents but also to assist those who have been impacted by them. By working closely with partners like Prudential Assurances, ZRST is able to extend its reach and make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by road traffic incidents.

The gesture also serves as a reminder of the critical role that communities, organizations, and individuals can play in supporting road safety initiatives and helping victims of traffic accidents. As November 17th approaches, ZRST encourages everyone to take a moment to reflect on the lives lost and the families forever changed by road traffic accidents, and to commit to making the roads safer for all.

Through these efforts, ZRST hopes to foster a culture of care and responsibility, ensuring that road traffic victims are not forgotten and that they receive the support they need during their time of healing. This donation to UTH is just one of the many ways in which ZRST continues to advocate for a safer, more compassionate Zambia
