On March 6th, 2025, the Zambia Road Safety Trust (ZRST) had the honor of welcoming the CEO of the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA), Mr. Amon Mweemba, for a courtesy visit. This visit provided an opportunity to discuss ongoing and future initiatives aimed at improving road safety across Zambia.

During the engagement, ZRST shared an overview of its past achievements and upcoming projects, reinforcing its commitment to reducing road fatalities and enhancing public safety. Mr. Mweemba commended ZRST for its efforts and stressed the importance of collaboration among road safety stakeholders. He emphasized that strong partnerships help avoid duplication of efforts and lead to more effective interventions.
A key highlight of the discussion was the Road Traffic Victims Fund initiative, which Mr. Mweemba recognized as a significant step in supporting accident victims. He noted that with continued engagement, the initiative could receive government backing through RTSA’s collaboration with relevant authorities.
ZRST is proud to have hosted Mr. Mweemba and appreciates RTSA’s ongoing commitment to road safety. This visit marks another step toward strengthening partnerships that will drive impactful road safety initiatives in Zambia. We look forward to continued collaboration in our shared mission to make Zambia’s roads safer for all.
