ZRST (Zambia Road Safety Trust) was proud to be a part of the Youth Week Indaba (YWI) held in celebration of International Youth Day on March 12th, 2025! This significant event brought together young voices from across the country to discuss key issues, and ZRST seized the opportunity to engage with the youth through the Zambia Road Safety Trust – Youth Week Mini Survey.

Understanding the Road Safety Challenges Faced by Youth
The Youth Week Mini Survey was designed to hear directly from young people about the biggest road safety risks they face every day. With this vital feedback, ZRST is able to shape its future initiatives and ensure that the voices of the youth are reflected in our awareness campaigns, policy recommendations, and community programs aimed at saving lives.
Taking just two minutes to fill out the survey meant much more than a few clicks – it was an essential contribution towards building safer roads for everyone. The collective input of young people will help drive impactful changes, creating a future where road safety is a top priority.
Promoting the Road Traffic Victims Fund Donation Initiative
Alongside the Youth Week Mini Survey, ZRST also took the chance to promote the Road Traffic Victims Fund Donation Initiative. The aim is to ensure support for victims of road traffic accidents and help raise the necessary funds to assist in the rehabilitation and support of those affected.
We also leveraged this time to spread the word about an exciting opportunity for youth to become Road Safety Ambassadors! With their creativity and social media skills, young people can play an integral role in shaping the conversation about road safety, inspiring others through powerful content creation.
Day 2 of Youth Week Indaba 2025: A Day of Inspiration and Collaboration 🚗💡
The momentum continued into Day 2 of the Youth Week Indaba on March 13th, 2025, where ZRST remained focused on the mission of promoting road safety while building connections with passionate young individuals. As we engaged with exhibitors and discussed potential partnerships, the energy of the youth fueled our determination to create a safer road environment for all.
We were inspired by the creativity, energy, and innovative solutions shared by the youth, as well as the drive to collaborate on the common goal of improving road safety in Zambia. It was an experience full of learning, growth, and the promise of new collaborations that will help shape the future of our roads.
Marching Forward: A Safer Road Ahead
As the Youth Week Indaba concluded on March 15th, 2025, we leave with renewed hope and a collective vision for safer roads in Zambia. The partnerships and ideas formed throughout the event will continue to influence our work at ZRST, ensuring that road safety is not just a topic of discussion but a movement led by the youth.
Together, we are amplifying our voices and driving innovations to create a future where everyone, especially young people, can travel safely.
Let’s keep marching forward towards safer roads in Zambia! 🌍
