With support from Puma Energy, the Zambia Road Safety Trust, together with Amend, successfully launched the first-ever Kids Court Initiative in Zambia at Mambilima primary school yesterday. This innovative program, implemented in five high-risk primary schools namely, Mambilima, Libala, Twashuka, New Mandevu, and Burma trained pupils to serve as judges, educating drivers about road safety!
Officials present included Mr. Daniel Mwamba, Chairman of the Zambia Road Safety Trust, Neema Swai from Amend, and Traffic officers from the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) and Zambia Police. The guest of honour was RTSA board Chairman Eng. Allen Mate.
Thanks to the assistance provided by RTSA and Zambia police, children were equipped with the knowledge and confidence to engage with drivers about their actions, increasing awareness of the risks of violating traffic rules around schools. This initiative has greatly enhanced road safety education for both children and drivers.
