The Zambian Road Safety Trust (ZRST) with the Ministry of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication, responsible for Road Safety, will host the “Save Lives” Road Safety Awareness Campaign and Launch on Saturday 26th April, 2014 from 07:30hrs to 13:00hrs at the New Government Complex, Freedom Statue. The Guest of Honour will be Hon Yamfwa Mukanga MP, Minister of Transport, Works, Supply & Communication.

This will be the biggest outdoor street event held in Zambia’s history on Road Safety following a recent rise in number of road accidents and fatalities. Invited guests include senior government officials, diplomats accredited to Zambia, corporate guests, education institutions, religious groups, NGOs and political parties. The event will start with four groups of people who will assemble at Civic Centre, Kabwata (UCZ – St. Pauls Church), Kamwala (Down Town Shopping Mall) and Central Business District – (Levy Junction) for march pasts to Freedom statue, Independence Avenue.
Organisations that will participate in the march past include National Airport Corporation (NAC), Ministry of health, Ministry of Tourism, FNB Bank, ZAMPOST, among others.
