The Zambia Road Safety Trust (ZRST), in collaboration with SLR Consulting Limited, Vectos, UKAID, and utilizing the SHE CAN Tool, has successfully completed one of Zambia’s first-ever passenger surveys focused on sexual harassment in public transport. This important initiative, conducted under the EMPOWER project, aimed to collect critical data on the experiences of passengers using Zambia’s public transport system.

The findings from this survey will guide the development of future policy interventions and awareness campaigns, reinforcing ZRST’s commitment to safeguarding the dignity and safety of all commuters. These insights are expected to shape targeted strategies for addressing sexual harassment, creating a safer and more inclusive public transport environment across the country.
