The Zambian Road Safety Trust (ZRST) is the Zambia’s leading Road Safety charity, which is an all inclusive, non partisan, non-profit organisation that seeks to create awareness on road safety issues in Zambia and contribute towards reduction in road traffic crashes, injuries and loss of lives.

The Problem

The road safety situation in Zambia is rapidly becoming an obstacle to competitiveness and development in Zambia, exceeding the impact of HIV AIDS. Two circumstances underscore the urgency to address the road safety issue. First, relative to the rest of the world, Zambia has an extremely high rate of road fatalities, and second, road safety management structures are still not sufficiently robust.

Your donation will help us give children a safer start

As many as 1000 children have been killed and more 10,000 injured in road accidents in Zambia in the last decade. Last year, 2014, over 200 children where killed and over 1300 were seriously injured. ZRST vision is to ensure that every child has access to quality road safety education that will ensure that they are safe on the road as they walk to and from school. To this end, we offer very affordable programmes schools so as the all school children can participate regardless of where they live or their financial situation.

As little as K3 will help pay for one children to attend the SEE AND BE SEEN Programme, K200 would help pay the cost of a Road Safety Instructor at a ZRST Programme.

Your gift – no matter how large or small – will make a difference by helping ZRST to provide essential road safety messages to childrem right across the country as well as increasing awareness about the importance of road safety education in reducing road trauma. Please contact us now.
